The Story of Betty
Around midnight on December 2nd we were all sleeping in the Smith family house, when all of a sudden our dogs started barking like crazy! We assumed that there was a squirrel or a rabbit in the yard and that was what the barking was about, so my mom let them out into the yard to bark and just a few seconds later they all came running up onto the porch and inside with their tails in-between their legs, whimpering all the way! My Mom went out to see what was the matter, only to find a GINORMOUS pig in our yard! It was almost as long as my mom is tall, and she's 5'11"! We called all our neighbors but it didn't belong to anyone. After some research, and calls to the Agriculture Extension Office, Animal Services, our local 4-H office, and the Sheriff, we found out that a Florida law that says if the pig is on your property, then it's your pig!
